We’re into the final countdown: only three weeks to go till the DESMA House Fair. On Monday, 26 September and Tuesday, 27 September, Achim on the outskirts of Bremen will once again be the hub of the international footwear industry.

More than 50 exhibitors and over 600 visitors from all over the globe have already signed up for the event. They can look forward to numerous presentations, discussions and exhibits from the DESMA product range. They will have the opportunity to talk to footwear professionals at the fair stands and share knowledge about the many innovations in the world of footwear production.

For example, DESMA will give live demonstrations of its direct soling process and present many tried-and-trusted processes as well as a wide range of newly developed technologies, such as particle dosing, direct injection process (DIP), multi section injection (MSI), and automation solutions. We also have a few surprises in store for you.

The first DESMAology Footwear Innovation Conference will also take place in the course of the House Fair. During panel discussions and numerous presentations, representatives of the footwear industry will inform the audience about diverse topics such as shoe design, sustainable production, automation and 3D printing, to name just a few. Visitors will also have the chance to discuss matters with leading experts from the footwear sector at the fair stands and share knowledge about new technologies and market trends.

April saw the launch of the Laceless Challenge, a high-level footwear design competition for which contestants from all over the world can enter footwear designs. True to the motto “Design for Manufacturing 4.0”, the main sponsor DESMA will ensure that the winning design will be transformed into an actual shoe in the shortest possible time. The winner was chosen in mid-July. During the House Fair, the Laceless Challenge organisers will present both the shoe as well as the creative genius who came up with the winning design. The shoe will be produced using DESMA DIP technology during the event.
